The Proposition.

Gigi and J.R. offered to either give me a shopping day at Belks or new custom shoes.
Tough (and generous) choices!!
Here's what I'm thinking...
Georgia Chacos

Auburn Chacos

Random Tennis/Running Shoes

Oconee Tennis/Running Shoes

Tennis Shoes
-Closed toe for various adventures that call for this
-My old tennis shoes are falling apart
    -Running AND tennis
    -Band camp and practice
-Will I look like one of those people who thinks she's so good and professional and needs the best shoes, I mean come on, what a faker.
-I don't wear tennis shoes with regular clothes
   -Favourite shoe
   -I dream about custom chacos
   -My pair is getting older
   -Multiple patterns!!!
-I wear Chacos like everyday of the year that I can
-Good for various activities I do
-Could wear to football games (which team!) and anywhere else too!
   -Already have a pair
Well.... it's up to you now I guess! And the probably like twelve other people I'll end up asking. :)
But your opinion is important! Please let me know all your thoughts!
P.S. I really want these too....

New Developments.

Wahoo! This.
I bought three CD's today (with giftcards, still clear on my New Year's Resolution!):

  1. Barton Hollow-The Civil Wars
  2. Emotionalism-The Avett Brothers
  3. The Head and the Heart-The Head and the Heart
For obvious reasons, I'm pumped.

We hung hooks to hang two ENO's in the screened porch during the summer. That's celebratory kind of news. It's wonderful!
And last but not least...

I'm afraid I'm a fangirl for the first time (haha). But I'm glad it's Eddie Redmayne and not like someone form One Direction...sorry One Direction. Haha, I'm not sure if Chris Thile counts or not for some reason....

Also, (don't be mad). I got an instagram  ...And I think I like it.... but probably because I follow like 10 people (most of whom I do not know) and only like 2 people follow me (perfect ratios-remember, I stink at math, don't trust that statement).

Dancers Among Us.

Have you heard of the art project/book by Jordan Matter called "Dancers Among Us?". Well, it looks AWESOME. and...I want it.
It features photographs of dancers doin' their thing in ordinary places. Perf. Check it out.

The Lost Songs.

Jess and I had lunch on Sunday and we jammed to Ingird Michaelson. We got to talking about her musical progression and her albums. Our favourite has disappeared though.

Maybe Ingrid Michaelson decided to take it back? (It's not on her website anymore and was her first album release). I'm not sure. But it was my very favourite, and still is, and if you find it anywhere ever, bring it to me!!! :) I miss it so much! Here's what I can find, that I loved, on YouTube.
Morning Lullabies
I'll See You in my Dreams

Let Go

Around You (probably my favourite)

Les Mis-conceptions.

Wow good pun right!
So I always assumed that Courfeyrac and Gavroche were brothers because of how protective Courfeyrac is of Gavroche, but apparently I'm completely off.
I read a website about the differences in the musical and the book and it was very interesting. I had already planned to read the book over the summer but now I can't wait.

Courfeyrac and Gavroche
According to the book, Eponine and Gavroche are actually brother and sister! What?! I suppose that's why they show the scene of Gavroche crying when Eponine dies, as a nod to the book. (And they have two other brothers and one other sister.)

P.S. Les Mis drinking game.

Lately I've been seeing a lot of state tourism commercials on TV. And they totally work. If I didn't want to visit places before (which I did), I do (still do) now. I guess everyone's getting plans together for summer and ohh wheee! These commercials make it hard to pick one place! Again I say roadtrip!!! (maybe someday!)

Amazon v. Etsy

Frequently when I want to find something or don't know what something is instead of looking it up on a regular search engine ("let me Yahoo! it!") like a regular person, I just search in Etsy. And when that doesn't work, I go to Amazon.

However, I have a lot of friends who (if they used my unconventional search engine system) would most likely use Amazon first.
I can't decide which I like more! Amazon has like everything but Etsy has that one-of-a-kind wearable/edible/usable art like things.

Think about it like this: On Amazon you would go to find a favourite movie. But on Etsy, you'd go to find a movie poster (or this rad sticker I got you :). Hmm..

Tough call. But here's what I'm thinking: I want a giftcard to both regardless. Okay, I've babbled my piece. So tell me, which is your "search engine" of choice?

The Head and the Heart.

This band is off the chain (hah. That term, why is it not used much anymore?). I really really like them and want this cd so very badly.
Each of the songs on the cd leads perfectly and effortlessly into the next. The voices and instruments are gorgeous. I saw an article where the girl's voice was describes as sultry and I think that's a beautifully accurate statement. What do you think? I want to hear them live! Wahh!!

P.S. Oh hey, you should totally get me this sweatshirt or and this tee shirt. :)

Siblings Day.

So apparently it's siblings day or something...like, whatever I guess :)
Let's just pretend all these cool cats from my pinterest board are us.

Oh, what the heck...we are the cool cats.

Love you MM!

Emily showed my this bizarre and hilarious video today. Happy Wednesday!!!

Sorry that I've been super lame at blogging lately. Please forgive me. One day I'll get into a rhythm and you'll have fun things to read....which also means one day I'll have a life and you'll have things to read about! I'm really not as interesting or cool as my Pinterest may lead on. Sorry 'bout it! :)

The Birthday Debacle of '13.

Normally I am a supreme gift giver. I love knowing exactly what to get a friend and all the cute reasons I chose the gift I did. Gift giving is my thing. It's my jam. I love it.

However, I'm on the struggle bus right now. My best friend is turning 15 and I have some ideas stirring around but nothing seems good enough for her.

Last year for her birthday, she took me and three other friends to a hotel in Atlanta. We had a blast and obviously, that can't be duplicated. So she was trying to think of ways to top that last party and we finally had to say, "it just can't be done, but anything you choose will be fun and special, no matter how extreme". Our advice to her makes me think of in Dan in Real Life and he says, "I think somebody hasn't been reading his own column." Should the advice I gave her be given to me as well? Is there no way for me to top other great gifts I've given, or the gift she gave me? What a pickle.
