The SunDevils.

As previously mentioned, here I go with college interests (alphabetically). First up!
Arizona State University
Most important things first....
Mascot: Sundevil
State: Can you guess....?
City: Tempe
Close cities: Mesa (5 mi); Scottsdale (7 mi); Phoenix (10 mi); Glendale (18 mi); Tucson (100 mi)
Marching Band: Yes!

My fabulous college book helped spark my interest as well as the fantastic blogger, Angela Hardison, who went there and whose blog I'm slightly obsessed with. She was plugged into the design-y programs and seems to be doing well and has beautiful products so the programs must be pretty good!

Here's what my book said (actual quotes by students) that engaged my interest (+other things I like):

  • "'Campus life is amazing. There is always  something to do, someone to hang out with, or places to be,' adding, 'The weather is nice enough to sit outside and study a lot.'"
  • "'The overall culture is very Southern California,' but 'The west side of campus has more of a Portland feel, which is more individual and artsy.'"
  • "...and the typical student is 'laid-back but invested in their future.'"
  • "'Tempe is great  if you're in college,' and 'Tempe has many fun activities both indoors and outdoors, depending on the weather! From hiking to biking, all kinds of sports, going downtown and being around the museums and history, to having a good time hanging out with friends on Mill Avenue.'"
  • Location, location, location
  • School sounds a little like Georgia (at least social aspects)
  • High 'Green Rating' (99) which for some reason I seem really interested in..
Beautiful Tempe.

Mill Avenue... It looks so dreamy!

Mill Ave

Things that worry me about ASU:
  • "the large auditorium classes are an absolute joke."
  • "ASU should concentrate on renovating old buildings, which are falling apart"
  • "inconsistent air conditioning during the hottest months."
  • "needs to 'improve in advising and the overall process of changing a major,' and some say, 'The red tape can be very frustrating, especially as a new student.'"

The Little Man.

This little man is happy as ever! He enjoys how we like to sit out on the porch until late night, but is not a big fan of the heat!

The other day, Mom decided she wanted to teach Charlie some new tricks. Of course, Dad and I both told her, "you can't teach an old dog new tricks!" But she tried anyways.
Unfortunately, Charlie seems to think the command "roll over" is actually fight-me-words, or play words. What a cutie...
Charlie really appreciated the footlong hot dogs Dad grilled us for Memorial Day! (but he didn't get more then an inch of them!)
Dad and I giving Charlie warning looks :)
From Charlie: "woof woof!" and a wagging tail!

Hey there Booger!

I always am so annoyed at how boring and lame summer break is before everything gets going. This year, I've been trying to do a little something everyday so that I have the right amount of entertainment and the right amount of down time each day.

Because I refuse to use FaceBook on my phone (just one of my little quirks) and I rarely remember to plug my phone to my computer to transfer evidence of my excursions, I've gotten used to posting little nuggets to Instagram.

And because you are a booger and refuse to use ANY internet on your phone, you're left wondering..."what is my dear dear sister up to these days?"

Well, here you go. I've taken some of my recent instagram goodness and put it right here for you!

Driving the mustang with Dad!

J.R. and Gigi took me shopping and J.R. found this sign

Dad and I went to see Pierce play little league. I asked for a picture with him
and Sadie and he got out his bat because he wanted a "baseball pose"

Today, Mom and I decided to "treat yo self!" We went to the American Girl Bistro
and then visited Tripp, Amanda, Keigh, and Paige at Graham and Amanda's new house!
I drove all the way home including through busy Atlanta traffic Wheeeeeee!
I hope camp is going well for you while I try to stay busy down here! :)

Saw this on Tumblr today. It said "share if you understand this inspirational message" and I basically lost it right there. Genius. (and of course I had to reblog it)

P.S. Sue from "The Middle" knows what's up.

The Big Kahuna.

Because I'm a total nerd....
I love the giant The Best 377 Colleges book you got me!
So, I have marked about a gillion colleges I'm into. I think I'll highlight a few here. Bear with me.
Bear Women

As you know, ever since I was little finding the perfect-fit-college has been my goal. I'm still not sure how this originated or how I became such a little geek burger, but just embrace it right man?

If there was an assignment I didn't want to do in first grade I'd huff my breath or heavily sigh and think, "you have to do this if you want to go to college!" Too bad I don't exactly have that same determination. (It's good enough though).
Is anyone else as excited?

And WOW! Getting closer to the day I choose which university to grace my presence with! ;) I'm done with my first year of high school and boy was that quick! For real, I know you disagree but golly pete! Speedy Gonzalez! So here goes my college search!

Hone Bear Women and put up with me because this is sadly one of my favourite things to daydream about.

Noelle: What's up next for you?
Daphne: The dessert. It's a selection of sorbes.
Noelle: No, I mean where are you going to college?
Daphne: Oh, that would be the University of the Undecided.
Noelle: Is that in Ohio?
Daphne: Yeah. Undecided Ohio.

(What a Girl Wants)

I'm Free!

I am done with my freshman year! Wahoo!
Bring on summer plans!

Real Life Princesses.

What if Disney Princesses were your real friends? This is so wonderful. Love it.
Ariel - the rebellious one

Cinderella - the moody one

Jasmine - the snarky one
I laughed aloud at many of these descriptions because they're wonderfully true.
Here's another fun one..
"What were Disney Characters Like in High School?" (Gaston cracks me up!)
Prince Eric - the band nerd

P.S. Which Disney Princess are you? I got Jasmine because they say I'm sassy :)

Ethan Craft IS Water Polo.

So remember the hunk from Lizzie McGuire?

Well... he IS water polo. He played in high school, college, and on the Olympic team! Way to go Ethan!

Dat Site Doe.

I somehow found myself paroozing a HILARIOUS website today. It has funny signs, pictures, phrases, what have you from popular sites like FaceBook, Instagram, Etsy, and so on. Check it out.

From OMG Draw! Showing off professionals of that app where you draw something for someone and they have to guess the word.

UHpinions is a site focused on those bogus product and store reviews. SCORE!

Lamebook takes those really good statuses and comments and puts 'em on display.

And Rich Kids of Instagram.  Real life Gossip Girl kids according to their Instagrams.

Up and Coming.

One of my favourite things to do is go on IMDB and watch movie trailers. I get super excited about upcoming movies, and also, trailers tend to have amazing music. Here's what I'm excited about.
The Way Way Back - July 5
Frances Ha - June 19
Kings of Summer - May 31

Take a Hike!

Ever since I got into this book, I've really wanted to go hiking. I've never been hiking before and I'm sure it would be brutal, but it's something I really want to try.

So. You in? Where do you want to hike? The AT perhaps? Or do something even better like backpack around Europe? Or both!? Let's do it all!
